horses as teachers & healers

Imagine this

The horses in these programs are largely ones that have been rescued from abusive circumstances. Most of them were exposed to negligence and hardship at the hands of humans. But as they show us their capacity to heal they demonstrate over and over again a desire to be of service in our work.

Horses are the antidote for so much of what ails us.

They embody a wild and mysterious power which is both physical and spiritual.

Along with their enormous strength and agility they are also super sensitive and responsive to each other, to their environment and to us. They embody presence and are masters at helping us to arrive in presence with them.

They, better than most living creatures, recognize our true selves under the cover of our fears.

Horses create an irresistible invitation to find connection with them. They enliven our intuition and make it available.

They teach us about being, instead of doing; about respecting ourselves, our space, and our shared boundaries.

They teach us how to listen, how to lead, how to follow and how to cooperate.

We find ourselves more in balance and at peace
around them.

All of the work we do with horses brings us to a place where we experience wholeness, wonder and awe,
love and connection.

“COLT has given me a reason to process my feelings and move through them. I’m an avoider, so it’s a relief to confront my feelings. I gotten to a place where no part of me wants to avoid the feelings.
The horses are the solution I have been praying for.”                                                               ~ program participant 2021
